the first shooting of Diva
Let’s talk about another french woman who got some real fans among my audience : Diva, a lovely doll without any experience. She was like a rough diamond … a lot of work was necessary to obtain a jewel with a star-shaped cut. Like Greta four years before, Diva wasn’t old enough when she contacted me. Several weeks were required before to shoot Greta, I had to wait for six months with Diva : when she turned 18, we organized her first professional shooting. She wanted to be a photo model, in fact, she was expecting to become a star of the fetish or burlesque scene. Diva has been incorrect and agressive with one of my friends photographer : I accepted to give her a chance because she was young and probably able to change. That’s how she arrived in front of my lens : the deal was “don’t be a child, work seriously and I will help you to be known” … and she did a nice job for her first time.
the first session with Greta
Back in 2000, November 18 … 22 years ago to the day ! Let’s share some memories about Greta, my first muse. I met her when she was under 18 and we had to wait before being able to organize her first photo session. I often use the word “first” but that’s important to my eyes. Your feeling is always stronger when you do something new : that’s the same when you shoot a woman for the first time. You know that her state of mind is different : she’s curious, nervous, excited and even more. As a photographer, the pleasure is also this exploration of an unknown territory. In the case of BDSM photography, you are not only exploring the body of your partner but also her secret thoughts. So, one week after her 18th birthday, Greta caught my eyes and seduced my lens … for me, this shooting has been the real start of Captive Culture with two photo series and several nice pics of this gothic girl also known as Lorelei before she changed her nickname for my website.
the first session of Amélie
Let’s talk about the first session I did with Amélie. Another year was beginning and I had the pleasure to meet this french pin-up during the christmas holidays. At this time, I started to do a photo test before to work with any new model. So, I already knew the modeling skills of Amélie : that’s why I planned a full afternoon to shoot two photo series. That’s not difficult to guess who Amélie is … if you watch the videos we made, you can feel she’s a nice person, the kind of girls I like : natural beauty, elegant without being fake, clever & funny. She was there to work nice & get more pics for her collection : even if we have never been close, we did a lot of photo series together. Student, Amélie was used to model for glamour & gothic photographers : she was a newbie into the BDSM universe but she understood the essence of our world. We were in the busy years of Captive Culture : I was shooting every week and my assistant was there to help the new models. Amélie needed some advices but she was experienced enough for a solo session.
the first series of Dana
After the post I wrote about Mina and Anaïs, let’s continue with Dana and the beginning of our long collaboration … she did more than 100 shooting days for me and brought a lot of things to Captive Culture. Dana was 25 years old when I met her around a cup of coffee : she was a nice woman having a break from her job, she wanted to explore her passion for acting and modeled only two times for the french pin-up photographer Virginie Notte. Dana was curious about my universe and talked about her wish to be bound : like lot of girls of her generation, she was a little bit kinky and was attracted by the beauty of ropes.
